What is the publishing date and worth of The Old Curiosity Shop, by Charles Dickens, publisher: Nelson?
My mother recently acquired an antique Charles dickens novel, called ‘ The Old Curiosity Shop “. Published by T. Nelson and Sons. No publishing date given, but after a lot of research, I gathered it was published somewhere between 1900 and 1910. Red cover, about 3 inches by 5 inches, title on the front and publisher’s symbol (letter N in a heart), title, author’s name and publisher’s name along the spine in gold writing, 575 pages. Could anyone tell me the year it was published, or the estimated timeline it was published in (ie. 1902-1906)? Also, I wanted to know it’s value. It’s not in to bad of shape right now, just a few pages needing to be binded, and I’d like to know it’s worth once it’s restored, or even as is. Thanks

If the link doesn’t work, then go to www.abebooks.com and browse the responses. Nelson apparently did several editions in a variety of dates from about 1931 to 1903. . . I didn’t go through them all. Several sellers have photos, all give their asking price. You can email a seller with a question, too, if you find one that sounds very similar to yours.
Be very careful about your repairs. Sometimes a book is more valuable with no repairs than with them, depending on who does the repair.
